Ministry Teams: Carrying Out the Church's Mission Carrying out the mission of the First Presbyterian Church of Martinsville requires an active congregation willing to share their gifts with others and participate in some of the many opportunities the Church presents for spiritual and personal growth. To accomplish this, we have organized several small ministry teams each empowered to represent the goals of the church in conducting the church�s business. Three mentors work with the various ministry teams. The role of the mentor is to be a facilitator to assure that teams are effectively making progress towards ministry team goals and that the needs and interests of those teams are represented to Session. If you are interested in participating in any of these teams or have an idea for a team that you would like to start, please, you are encouraged to talk with any of the mentors and they will do their best to assist you. Additionally, the Board of Deacons, a board comprised of elected positions, but who also operate as ministry teams with volunteers from the congregation, serve the nurturing and care requirements of the church.
